Shereen was born in Manhattan, NY and raised in Queens, NY. With her mother being from Jamaica, West Indies and father from the “Boogie-Down” Bronx, she grew up in a household of what she calls “Caribbean Soul”, where the music that played around the house ranged from Bob Marley and Beres Hammond to James Brown, Marvin Gaye and Public Enemy.
Shereen developed a passion for performance at a young age and began to study dance and piano. At Brooklyn Technical H.S, she discovered a love for the theatre! Though she had natural talent, she was encouraged by family to focus on math and science. She went on to study chemical engineering and chemistry at North Carolina A&T State University. During her matriculation there, she couldn’t quiet that voice that kept calling her to the stage! She was ecstatic to make her theatrical debut in the musical, Eubie! Some of her favorite roles included Deena in Dreamgirls and Mayme in Intimate Apparel.
After receiving her Masters of Fine Arts in Acting from the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University, she has worked consistently and passionately in all realms of the Art worldwide, while being primarily located in her hometown of NYC. In 2017, it became clear to her that it was time to expand. With no job in place, no management team and no concrete plan, she took an ultimate leap of faith in May of 2017. After never even visiting Los Angeles, she packed up her car and drove across the country to relocate and answer the call of a higher being. She is now managed by CBUMGMT, Inc and has agent representation with JC Williams Agency. Since her arrival, she continues to grow in ways she didn't even know were possible. From creating her own dance fitness class called, JamRockFit to her healing work as an Authentic Expression Coach, there are no limits for this "go-getter" as she struts the path to greatness in grace through inspired action and by her own definition of success.
